Stronger than Captain Underpants, Smarter than a 5th Grader

Family Photo 2009

Firstly, thank you to Kim Selby for taking this gorgeous photo.

Secondly, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all you lovely mothers out there.  You’re job is very special.  Be encouraged in your day-to-day tasks and remember that your job is imperative in assisting your children from the transition from childhood to adulthood.

Thirdly, can I just say that “I love my family”.  Thank you for looking after me.  Today I was awoken with this message.

Mothers day wishes

and a delicious breakfast………… one egg ’sunny side up’ and one egg ‘flipped’…….. I even got a serviette…….

Breakfast in Bed

BUT before I could ‘dig in’ to my brekky I had a myriad of gifts & cards to open.  Between 6 children & a hubby I think I received more than 10 cards!!   The kids creative juices were flowing with many words of love and kisses and cuddles and pictures - pictures that moved, pictures that were hidden behind flaps, words that were cut out of paper AND the gifts were very special.  Lavendar smelly stuff, family organizer magnetic calendar, star soaps, home made mug, fruit and nut chocolate (kids were quick to let me know that they are NOT allergic to nuts) and some jewellery - yes, I’m one of the spoilt mother’s whose husband also buys me a gift even though I am not his mother!  What more could a mother ask for?

First prize for the day has to be the poem written for me by the family……….. a group effort.

SUPERMUM

Faster than a speeding bullet

Stronger than Captain Underpants

More beautiful than a fairy

Smarter than a 5th Grader

If I’m stronger than Captain Underpants and smarter than a 5th Grader, what more could they want out of a mother?

Seriously, a fantastic article I came across by SquiggleMum entitled They Call Me Mummy! is a great Mother’s Day read.  Be encouraged!

I would love to hear about your Mothers Day experiences!  Both good and bad.  Bet no-one else got a poem as good as mine!  [LOL]

Sounds like you had a wonderful Mothers Day - it is a great post. My hubby was away in Ire and my 3 & 1 yo are a little oblivious. My sister got me a card from my kids and my oldest drew the most gorgeous picture of our family and wished me Happy Birthday!!(LOL) That made my day!
